Designed by Lakwena, the Tender Loving Care Bandana brings vibrant color and uplifting words into an object meant to be worn and shared. It is a simple, versatile piece that can be styled in many ways, around the neck, in the hair, tied to a bag, or even displayed.

Cloth has always carried meaning beyond its function. It can be folded, wrapped, carried, and worn, moving with the person who uses it. This bandana draws inspiration from the kanga, the brightly patterned fabric worn by women across East Africa. Kangas often feature printed messages and are given as gifts, used to communicate encouragement, humor, or care within a community.

The Tender Loving Care Bandana reinterprets that tradition in a smaller format. Like the kanga, it carries a message meant to travel—something that can be worn, shared, or passed on as a gesture of connection and affirmation.
